Unable to visit with my family or go anywhere, I kept connected by evoking in my paintings familiar images of people, places, and things that are a part of my daily life as a painter. I have presented them in a variety of abstract compositions. This includes a wide range of geometric, amorphous, and organic shapes. Often, these shapes are distorted, which adds to their mystery. Sometimes I add lines to enhance the compositions. In some of these paintings I have included figures and representational images that are inspired by my longing for normal experiences during isolation. In June, when  the pandemic seemed to be under control, I attended a workshop at the Hudson River Valley Workshop.  It was a workshop in gel printing and collage.  I have given them the title of Emergence as it was at a time we were emerging from the isolation of the pandemic.
