The voyage of Saint Brendan is a legendary 9th century epic text known as the Navigatio Sancti Brendans.  The legend follows his seven-year transatlantic quest with fellow monks to find the Isle of the Blessed, a mythical paradise.  During the voyage they stopped at the Isle of Sheep characterized by giant sheep and a mysterious steward.
